Updated regularly, the following is a collection of artwork, writing, curatorial work, and side projects. Stay tuned for more.
Art on His Arm
I was recently invited to participate in a mobile gallery project called Flex Gallery by Zachary Johnson. Zachary wore my artwork on his arm for one month, through rain and snow, sun and wind. His project will be showcased at the UICA in June 2017. You can read more about Zachary's project via the link below.
New Wallless Post: Featuring Gypsy Shindler
How do we continue to learn and grow as adults? In our age of self-care trends and polemic politics, this is a challenge I consider constantly, if only because stagnation means being left behind. How do I gain new knowledge? How can I keep up with new technologies? How do I get better? I don’t really have an easy answer but I do know that being uncomfortable is a good start. Miami Beach Obsession
I travel for work from time to time, most recently to South Florida. Most of South Florida is pavement and palm trees and lots of white pants. But Miami Beach is so much more. See my obsessive photos in my most recent vsco journal.
#StillUntitled Series | 2014-2017
#StillUntitled is an ongoing project. It is a reconfiguration, reconciliation, sometimes erasure of places and spaces that grate against one another; urban-rural, affluent-poor, industrial-suburban. It is catharsis. It is a practice in composition and color, a visual exercise.

I've always been too terrified to photograph a wedding...
But then on New Year's Eve 2014/15, Allene and Remy asked if I would, and I said I'd think about it. I did for a long time, weighed my options and decided that if I was going to ever photograph a wedding I would want it to be for a couple like Allene and Remy--a pair of truly beautiful people inside and out--so I said 'yes.'
I got married... and had an art show instead of a wedding.
In 2012 I met a scruffy, brooding printmaker named Steve. He sings to himself with headphones on (loudly), cooks knock-out breakfasts, and shares his cats with me. I love him. In 2014, he popped the question ("what's your favorite Bjork album?"... duh!) and we got married in May 2015.
Dinderbeck Studio & Printshop Promo
I keep studio space at Dinderbeck, a community printshop on the westside of Grand Rapids, MI. DB is a big, old warehouse space that has uneven floors, murals on the walls, and a handful of talented artists. I also help tell their story through social media and organizing open-house style events. Recently, we put together a video introduction to the space.
Craft House Gallery Closes
Craft House was my home and passion-project for three years. It was an event-based exhibition space that provided artists with the support to mount their own exhibitions and the platform to connect with collectors. Located in downtown Grand Rapids, on the Avenue for the Arts, Craft House was active between January 2013 and April 2016.
